Moody(board) Blues: An Interior Design Project

Recently, a super fun newlywed couple asked if I would help them decorate their kitchen and dining room.  Not only was I honored to get the job, but I was excited I had a good excuse to surround myself with mountains of  tile samples, paint colors and fabrics galore (Yes, I know I need to get out more).  On Sunday I presented my design plan to my clients and what do you know – they loved it!  Hooray!

To help my clients visualize the potential of their soon-to-be-new spaces. I not only brought them samples of materials, but I also created virtual mood boards on Olioboard.com.   For those of you who aren’t familiar with Olioboard, it is a free online community where users can create 2D and 3D room designs using personal images and products from other store brands found all over the web.  Of course, I like to define Olioboard as the biggest time suck ever.  No joke.  I could spend hours on there designing (and redesigning) room after room after room.  So, after playing working hard for a few hours, I came up with these mood boards for my clients.

My clients told me they are drawn to clean lines and blue/gray color schemes, so I ran with it.   The photos in the upper right corner of both boards show the rooms in their current state, but hang on to your hats because there are about to be some fantastic changes.  It will probably take a couple of months before the work is done, but once the rooms are complete I promise I will post photos.  I. can’t. wait!

In the meantime, I’m accepting new design clients so whether you just need a little help choosing paint colors or you need a complete room makeover, I would love to help.  If you aren’t in the Dallas -Ft. Worth area or don’t feel you need to meet in person, please inquire about my economical virtual design services.

See you all next week!

EDIT:  Check out the post I just received from my amazing clients.  They are the nicest people and I am completely humbled by their kind words….
“Jessica,
We absolutely LOVED your designs! You captured everything we wanted, as well as threw in some fun stuff we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves (like the stencil on the back wall of our cabinets!). You were such a pleasure to work with and did an excellent job listening to what we wanted! We were sad to see you go, but can’t wait to work with you on additional rooms in the future! We can’t thank you enough for bringing our ideas together and making our dream house come to life. We will definitely share pictures when it is done. Thanks again for all your hard work and the beautiful finished product. We love it all!” – H & C
